Health Sciences Post Baccalaureate Entrance Requirements
Applicants to the Health Sciences Program for post baccalaureate education must meet the
following minimum admissions requirements:
- Earn a baccalaureate degree from an
accredited college or university by the time of enrollment.
- Complete a minimum of
eight (8) semester hours with lab experience in biology, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and
physics.
- Have an overall minimum grade point average of 2.7
- Provide scores
from the most recent MCAT that the applicant has taken* (medical Post Baccalaureate only).
- Submit official transcripts from each undergraduate and/or graduate school previously
attended.
- Submit one letter of recommendation from a member of the science faculty at the
college of university previously attended.
*Health Sciences students who are interested in
applying to the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine must have a minimum MCAT composite score
of 22.
To be considered for admission to the Pharmacy Health Sciences Program, an
applicant must have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Complete 8 semester hours in each of the following courses with a minimum grade point
average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, with no grade lower than a C: general biology, inorganic chemistry
and organic chemistry (each course must include a 2 semester hour laboratory experience).
- Complete 3 semester hours in each of the following courses with a minimum grade point
average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, with no grade lower than a C: physics, calculus, statistics,
economics (macro, micro or general), and psychology or sociology.
- Complete 6 semester
hours in the following course with a minimum grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, with no
grade lower than a C: English
- Complete 15 semester hours in the following courses with a
minimum grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, with no grade lower than a C: General Education
Electives *
*General Education Electives in subject areas other than the above
prerequisites; such as humanities and social sciences.
